The bad brace is on the 120 Long, not the sump so it's a little harder to get a new tank. You can see in my pics it came with a white steel support brace that I put on top to keep it from flexing, it worked well.

I did epoxy the plastic though tonight but don't think I'll ever trust it 100% as you said lol.

Got it now! I really couldn't see the white steel support brace, I thought it was a piece of wood.:shhh:

But with the new pic I see it clearly now.lol

You'll be fine. The guy I got the tank from had it running that way for a couple of years. This is Jerl77s old tank everyone!
Wow, I'm really blind. Wasn't that long ago that I saw Jeremy's tank, and never even noticed this brace.:Yikes:

I'm unsure of a couple of things and want to try to do all the PVC tmorrow...

1. Does the design look ok?
2. Where do I put the chiller and UV sterilizer? I'm thinking after return pump for both but could I put either on the drain line before going into the sump? Or could I put plumb them both from the chamber where the skimmer is directly into the chamber with the return pump (bypassing the refugium)?
3. Actually now that I'm looking at the sump better, it looks like AJ had the chamber on the right as the refugium. So maybe I should swap the chambers with the skimmer and the fuge?

That's jerl77 old tank. Its a 125gal. If your worried about the top brace then just replace the entire top rim.

I think the tank actually comes out to 121.5 gallons or something like that. A standard 125 is 72" long and 21" high... this is only 60" long but 26" high.

I fixed the brace with epoxy but going to give it another water test once I get all the plumbing hooked up. I'm off tomorrow so hoping to get it all done between tonight and tmrw morning...

Steve, I had the same tank once upon a time, and it is definitely 120 gallon tank.;) As to your sump; Would you consider running it on the side of the stand? Perhaps you can build a short stand to sit it on. That is if you have enough room to do so.

If I had the room for that I would get a bigger tank lol... I also like the "finished" look where you only see display tank. I'm planning on curtains on the front of the stand to cover up the sump.

Look into how to build pod condos to move around from DT's instead of moving rock work , if you wait until later I'll explain them after I get out of work

Sent from my PC36100 using Reefs

Yeah that would be great... would they go in the DT or the refugium?

Still trying to decide if I should plumb the smaller side tank into the main tank or not. Would a hang on back overflow work on a 20g??

well you should have a few built so you could cycle through them put them in the fuge a few weeks to populate pods in them then move to DT and rotate them in and out of fuge to keep a healthy population....a hob would work but i always recommend a reef ready tank over a HOB overflow...as for the small tank...the more volume the better

I found some links about rubble rock for pods is that what you're talking about? My 120g is reef ready, just finished the plumbing this morning. I'll put some pics up. Tomorrow I'll do a full water test to check for leaks.

For the smaller tank I was thinking something rather that will sit on a side table. Maybe a 15g Tall but I'm not sure yet. I also don't really want to drill it so was thinking HOB for that overflow.
