Hey Rich just a quick question since i see you had a Solana also ... How do you like the 60 Cube over the Solana. I was thinking about upgrading and was wondering if the 60 is worth it

The 60 cube appears much larger than the solana even though it's only 4" larger on each dimension. Definitely worth the upgrade! Only problem is that it is half of a 120 gallon.......makes me want to upgrade:spin:

Update!!!!

The 60 is up and running. I decided to keep the dead rock because it seems to be cleaning up pretty quickly. I wanted to make a cool aquascape so I ended up breaking a couple of the larger pieces and drilling holes in them. The structure is held together with lengths of 3/4 PVC pipe. I think it will be a good base to add corals. The rocks don't touch the glass at any point. Im sure it will change in the future but I'm happy with the way it looks at the moment.

I went with a different substrate this time. I used a combination of 3 mm aragonite and crushed coral. The larger grain size should help with sand blowing around when I increase the flow. I also like how rics and zoos attach to the CC. The make frags all by themselves

I still have to purchase and plumb in the frag tank/refugium (most likely a 40 breeder) lit by the 6 bulb ATI fixture. The 60 is lit by a Geismann Infinity 250w + 4 t5. I am trying to get my hands on an EVC 20k DE 250w bulb it seems impossible at the moment. While this rock is cycling I will try my best to get everything together in a week or so.

Very nice Rich. I like the rock work. So you decided t go back to MH?

Pierce if I didn't just buy all this stuff a month before the storm I would have upgraded to a 120ish. I save the big tank for a move in the next 2 years.

Not leaving yet but by next spring 2014 I will be ready. I'm not leaving because of the storm, I just want more property and privacy for my money......start a family and all that good stuff ;).

Thanks kris:eek:rangehat

Ahh, starting the family.;) That is very good! I fully understand the privacy issue; I would also like to move for that reason. Unfortunately hubby doesn't feel the same.:(
