as of lately ive been having a problem with my yellow tang. He has gotten very aggressive with my 2 other tangs and other fish as well. so i had to try to get him out asap without disrupting my reef. so i tried the inverted bottle fish trap it worked but he swam right out, i guess the opening was to big to confuse him. When it was smaller he wouldn't go in :sigh:.

(i tried upright and then put it horizontal and he would swim right in after the 1st day and right out lol)

so onto the next idea

I did some research and found this eggcrate box with a door so i made one...

i attached fishing line to the door on both sides and ran in up into the top of the eggcrate (so the door would close good) tied them together and ran a long line from that so mr. yellow tang would not see me and what i was up to.

after 2 days i got him

you can use this box for smaller fish as well just put a netting over it and get some sinking pellets and eventually you will catch them :)

all in all it was a great success and my reef avoided being destroyed and reconstructed...

Pretty cool, that's awesome. Good for you, I know the feeling of having to tear the tank down just to get one fish out.

I suggest not using thermal adhesive.. if your buying drilled and tapped use thermal grease cause your going to use screw anyway.. I have 1 led that fail, when u need to remove the leds You will have to chisel it. and it's a PITA!! . with the fan on low and my leds running at 1.1ma my heatsink never gets above 79. that fan is quiet..

Tony did I count it right 12 leds? on a MW 27D driver?
