I think what he did was use 3 stock holes for drains and one as a return then added a few more returns off the outside back of the tank

My ? is...did you add/drill a 3rd drain, or convert a return?
IMO, the two 1" drains on a 300dd are a joke...tank should have at least two 1 1/2" drains

I used 3 of the 1" bulkheads as drains, converted 1 of the returns, went up and over the top to return the water with 3 other returns

How much flow is going through the sump that it puts the braces in the water? and if it isn't too much flow do you think you could slightly bore out the teeth in the overflows in order to allow a slightly faster drain rate through them?

Hey Charlie how's the garden eel doing as it harmed any other fish in the tank? Also how much sand you have in the tank for the garden eel?

The eel is very shy only came out about an inch a few times .my sandbed is about 4" more in certain spots

Yeah I really wanted to set up an 8'tank but I wouldn't be able to get it down my basement stairs ..bigger is always better lol ..but I'm happy with it .I'm just waiting for all my frags to grow

So I added a 29 gallon for one of my clown pairs that I just couldn't part with and also underneath a 20long which will hopefully be a frag tank ..I'm using the new vertex reactors for gfo and carbon .I have a spare middle outlet .I was planning on using biopellets again but I'm still up in the air with it ..
