Actually not bad gary I made the stand for the tank extend all around so I have a ledge to stand on ..I do see y everyone said to make the top open but I can deal with it not as bad as I thought

Have you thought about attaching a wire or fishing line around it and tie it up to your canopy, and try to raise it just enough so it's out of the water?

Yeah that may be my next move I don't understand y they made it the way they did they could have done it so many other ways

Great setup, I like it a lot! One thing I would do eventually is add some thin acrylic or abs on the lip of the stand around the tank. Use some silicone to make no water get behind/under it. This will make the water spills from going in and out of the tank MUCH easier to clean.

charlie, if you slow the flow down a little bit the support braces wont be in the water anymore, I added a 3rd drain to solve that problem

How did you add a 3rd drain to a DD tank?

Only way i can see that is pulling a return pipe and making it a drain and making a return go up and over the tank. The brace isnt bad. Glue some dendros under it and some zoas and it will look cool

My ? is...did you add/drill a 3rd drain, or convert a return?
IMO, the two 1" drains on a 300dd are a joke...tank should have at least two 1 1/2" drains
