Isn't this referred to as a carnation coral? It will be interesting to see if Phol's additives will help to keep it alive.

This is in the same family as the carnation coral, but its not. It sold under the name Orange Soft Coral. It suppose to be a little easier to care for the carnation coral.

The additive that I think may help is sponge power. I feel that the sponge power will help build up the small micro animals that are needed to feed these corals.

Ive been eyeing the orange soft coral...saw it on Liveaquaria...but I figuered it would die...im very curious to see your experiment...
I want some full tank shots now that you have livestock in it.

Seems just to be a variety of carnation, but looks pretty bad ass regardless. Good luck and keep the pics coming!!
