that is def. true other than lowering nutrients, emerald crabs, i do manually remove the larger ones but i wont touch the smaller one'sBubble algae running it's course usually leads to an infestation of bubble algae.
i used the beckett foam which is uv resistant and covered it with west systems epoxy then with sand i guess only time will tell it cured in saltwater for 3 weeks and it has been in the tank for a weekI read some post on RC about the foam potential causing probmes. Any evidence of that in your research prior to installation?
thanksnice idea. Hot tank man!
steve, thanks no pics sorry but i will post some links to rc where i got the idea from as for cure i cured it for about 3 weeks in saltwater with a couple of pieces of live rockawesome Mike! any foam process pics? how long cure time?
thankssweet setup.
this tank cost 180.00 picked up in westchester.the next cheapest quote i got was from a store in new jersey i believe they were called aquariums for you which shafted quite a few people there price was 750.00 plus shippingGlassCages silicone jobs are really pretty crappy. I had one of their tanks before and it looked pretty amateur compared to my current tank.
thank youBut your tank looks amazing
those are persiltalic pumps for two addition to tank, that is a check valve , just a cleaning padIn the sump picture, what is that thing on the upper left (it's grey and looks like it has two fans). Also there is diagonal output coming out of your yellow pump. Whats that for? (And finally, what's on the velcro for your scrubby magnet?)
thanks!Looking sweet as always!
thank youLovely!
thanks rich, i actually did just add some zoos to the back wall they are just so damn small you can't see them in the picI haven't seen many (actually any) back drop tanks that I liked. You've done it right and it looks great! Only thing I could think of is to maybe add more color to the wall...possibly glue zoos or encrusting monti?
thank you , coraline i s already over a majority of the back wall i would think over time it will just look the same as any other rock in our tanks. yes i do have some zoos on the back wall. zoos for some reason do not like my tank.I finally saw this thread and happy I did!
I loved it in the 1st. pics. Then the pics with the background; I liked the background but felt that it took up too much space. But then the progression pics changed my mind. Do you think coraline will grow on the background eventually? Or are you going to follow Rich's advice and glue some encrusting coral on it?
Your tank is beautiful!!!!
