protien skimmer

I need a cheap protien skimmer for a 180 gallon fish only tank.
I have a sump but I think I want it to run outside the sump because I don't have so much room.

i would rec. something down the lines as asm they might be the greatest working skimmer for the buck.. they have to go in sump though.. def. worth it and id say the best working for the price.

If you want to go external, the ASM isn't the best choice for you. Check out the thread to get an idea, lots of skimmers are included in it.
