For this video, we went to the CoralVue booth in Reef A Palooza Orlando to meet up with Rabih Krayem of Reef Kinetics and see the unveiling of their final release model and launch of their highly anticipated Reef Bot.

First, check out the latest video here.

I have been following their journey since MACNA 2016, and it has certainly has come a long way since their announcement.

Check out the photo below to see their initial concept stage at MACNA San Diego in 2016.  As you can see, it has really evolved. What caught my attention was their use of already existing liquid reagents of our choice to test for us. Eliminating human error as well as making it easy and user friendly, it was exciting to see the product’s huge potential and impact in our hobby. As we know in hobby that if it’s easy, people will do it. Difficult, it will often be overlooked or pushed aside until something goes wrong. I think that this unit will bring more success to many hobbyists.

I met the Reef Bot team and Rabih for the second time at MACNA 2017 in New Orleans. The machine has turned completely 180 and it got a nice aluminum casing that resembles a small PC, protecting and hiding all the unsightly wires and making the unit a true plug and play.

They had completely changed everything, from the way that it’s inserted using syringe to the individual bottles containing magnetic stirrers for auto titration. It was re-thought, re-engineered and extremely polished; it’s a great move forward by the Reef Kinetics team.

You can check out the coverage here.

By Reef A Palooza Orlando, it has become even more compact, has an acrylic lid to protect the wires, and was working great at the show. It’s very exciting for me personally to see this product finally hitting the US market. The ability to test up to 30 different elements with simple swipes of your finger is nothing short of amazing and I can’t wait to see how it will effect aquarium automation. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot more innovative advancements from them in the future.

Check it out!
