Last MACNA, I unveiled Reef Bot Pro during my live video, as well as in my article for Reefs.com here.
Look at the 2:38 mark where you will see the Reefbot Pro in action.
How is this unit different from the previous unit?
ReefBot Pro mainly caters to the needs of reef & fish stores. With its 21 vials instead of the original 8, ReefBot Pro can test a high number of parameters (9 different ones) from multiple water sources at the same time, making it an ideal addition to any local fish store, coral farm, or any aquatic commercial or advanced hobby setting. Customers can then visit the store to request customized testing for their water samples; the store will be able to process samples from several customers at the same time, keeping them longer in the store to increase the chances of additional purchases by these customers.
All the available parameters that can be monitored.
Alkalinity (KH), Calcium (CA), Magnesium (Mg), Nitrate (NO3), Nitrite (NO2), Phosphate (PO4), Ammonia (NH3), Copper (Cu), and Iodine (I2)
(Side note: In my original article about the Pro unit, I made a suggestion to add iodine as well as couple of other elements and I am happy to see that iodine has been implemented)
Pro unit is also faster and more efficient than the original bot.
It has different hardware that is able to sample water with a syringe and not a pump; it also has a different linear actuator which enhances the speed and the accuracy of the tests.
Happy Reefing!
