Hydor International Files Trade Complaint against Jebao

Hydor filed a complaint last week with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) stating that Jebao’s products infringe U.S. Patent No. 8,191,846, a patent protecting HYDOR’s aquarium fitting technology. The plaintiff released a statement to the press, stating, “HYDOR considers its aquarium fitting technology and its related patents to be very valuable, and it will remain resolute and active in vigorously enforcing its patents in this area.” The press release of the ITC complaint is now available online at www.hydor.com and on the Hydor Facebook pageMORE

    Ironic considering Hydor is a Tunze knockoff.

  • Hydor should just concentrate on making better pumps. Jebao has made these other companies look stupid IMO.

    I was thinking the same thing- Hydor? Do you mean Tunze? Thing is, as much as I like the fact Jebao pumps are inexpensive and works as well as their priced much higher counterparts, it’s pretty obvious the company stole patented design and used it without authorization. On one hand, it’s a Chinese product, so it seems nobody cares that much as that is “what they do”, but on the other, companies like tunze spend large amount of their budget developing products that are later copied and sold in countries that repeatedly violate international patent codes.
