Ok so Ive been thinking of building a overflowing tank and I want to know where people get acrylic work done. I need to get an acrylic tank made up. I want to do a cube maybe 24x24 maybe 24 high even or 20 high. so this way I can run one MH over the top and not have to much shadow. Anyone know where I can buy acrylic tanks or anyone make them I would like round edges or maybe even a circular tank.

Anyone else think of making an overflowing tank?

build it yourself.

You could do it with a table saw, a router table, some clamps, glue, and some polishing compound.

Personally I'm lazy, and the thought of having to clean 8 sides of glass is not to my liking. I usually only clean the front piece of glass, anywho.

So a cool tank liek that would be wasted on me. but its great for displays though.

Yeah but you would have to call it a richie corner or something like that, I think there are patents and such you need to worry about :)

I've seen the tanks and spoken to the people who make and sell them, they are a lot more complicated than they look. To make one yourself could end up costing more than an actual zeroedge. It might take a few tries to get it right. but if you go for it good luck :)

How much do they run?

The thought of having to clean all of the sides of the tank, inside and out, seems like a PITA.

Even though I am a customer acrylic tank builder, I would suggest anyone who is interested in the overflow style tank to get a ZeroEdge instead of hiring me to make one. The price of the setup may be only a little more than your cost of raw material plus you ahve to setup an tool(which you probably will use only once in 10 years) to bend the acrylics.

I try not to mention ZeroEdge as a type of tank because these type of tanks have been available in many Japanese aquarium shows more than 10 years ago.
