Just remember that brine shrimp (which I use) have very little nutrition unless used within about 6 hours of hatching. After that you have to wait till they start eating and then feed them something that will boost their nutritional value. I use them as a snack because the fish really like to chase after them.

Just keep in mind this probably has to be placed in a bright area, otherwise the brine shrimp wont go to the middle (they go towards the light). The window sill might also not work because they might get baked to death.

This can be placed anywhere you want.....the shrimp will swim toward any amount of light- even a nite lite.
I think it works better with a very low light, as too much light tends to seep
under the center opening lighting the inside of the whole dish.
I've found that ambient room light is plenty.

Few questions

Don’t these hatchlings have almost no nutritional value? Isn’t it easier just to buy a bar of Cyclopeeze for $11? These buggers are frozen, but packed w/ nutrition and lasts at least six months (easy). Maybe I’m missing something….I know Melev reef talks about feeding the little buggers to get them nutritionally sound. It just sounds like wasted money & time to me. If I’m wrong let me know
