DIY Calcium Reactor

No this has gone the way of all group DIY projects on this site.
Lots of talk and enthusiasm followed by deafening silence.

you almost sound bitter, Aaron. Are you still upset it rained on DIY day?

I'll be DIY'ing a BUNCH of stuff when I get back into town. SO far,
Stand
canopy
external overflow (If I don't buy the tank that way.)
Sump/fuge
Skimmer
a reactor. If I stay with lps/softies I'll probably make a kalk reactor instead of a calcium one.

Now I just have to design everything before I get back to NYC. Building the stuff will be the easy part.

According to what the guy on RC wrote, he said it should come out to be around $120 with everything but the Co2 tank and the solenoid/valves I guess.

If your going to build a Ca reactor let me know. I'd like to come check it out .

I don't mind the home made look once it does the job. It's still a 5 min walk to Lowes . I'd do more walking taking the train or spend about 30 mins waiting for the bus to go 3 blocks :lol:

To my surprise, my understocked(just hating on the Lowes) has everything but the pump and Co2 thing-a-majigs to make the Ca reactor.

Now do you guys think it would work?

I have a month off and lots of time to make it in .

check the thread - last i read guys were having a tough time dialing this thing in.

BTW, I have the very same bubble counter and pressure guages. WOrks well.

Read the whole thing. I figured I'll end up paying about $300, for a couple more or close to that used I could get a real one.
