Fall cleanup and winter prep

Its been about a week since I started mixing the fishes diet with wheat germ based food. This will begin to fatten them up for the winter. I cut (ummm, my gradener) cut down all the leaves, the lilly pad, and stalks of all the plants. I still have to go into the pond to sink the pots down to the 4' level. Also I need to put in a water fountain head for decoration becauase it look soooo plain! :)

Final waterchange n fall cleanup

These are the Hyacinct's roots. They're like 18" long n seem to have been doing its job.

Wetvac'd the stream bed after moving all the river rock to the sides. The stream gets quite dirty with organics

Harry, I just read this thread again and must say you've got a great setup. You've really carved out an oasis.

Thank you, but after ten yrs i have to put some work into her this spring.

Top off well water and float valve system
Manufacture a bench to cover the pumping and leaf trap system.

Looks like March/April I'll be outdoors.
