Just saying hi from the uk.

A few of your members are visiting a UK based site that I mod on due to a 17ft tank, so I thought I join your forum.

I currently have a 7ft reef but have an empty un piped 7.5ft also in my lounge.

Hi Craig,
Welcome to New York!
I've been looking at ultimate reef, you have some incredible tanks over there. Please post some of your pic's or just add links to your tank set up. We'd love to see what you have set-up.

How do you upload pics?

Craig, I looked at the tank photos on your site, it's really beautiful. It's shame you have to give that up.
Thanks for sharing it though, I hope my tank will look like that some day.

Thanks people.

I feel a bit of a fraud now though, as I've trawled your site and not found a single non-ny state member.

And theres me in the uk

Craig,
We have some people from New Jersey on our site

Don't worry this was created as a way for local people in the NY area to connect with each other. It's worked really well. I joined recently and I've met a bunch of really great people.
Now if you ever come over here you'll "know" people to visit and show you around, plus you'd get to see new tanks!
I know I'd love to see some of the tanks over on your side of the pond, some of them look insane.
I think it's cool that I joined your UR site today, and your on our site. The reef community is truly international.
It's late there isn't it?

I just figured out Alans tank volume, 17x4x3.5=2225.5 gallons and it's 85 square ft of floor space, I think he needs a bigger house. I wonder what you do when and if you need to sell that house?

It's not as late as I thought, but that's still a bit ahead of us.
Did you grow your coral from frags, or did you buy small colonies? I love the shots where you see the growth of the tank.

mixture, small colonys, frags and carelessly created frags by myself. The monti's have pretty much grown from tiny frags though.

And yes I'm quietly please with my monthly growth pics as well.

As for alans "reef" tank, less we forget the "angel" tank......what can you say.....appart from the cost must be 10's even 100 thousand...(equipment is more expensive over here).

mad man indeed.

haha yeah his tank is about the size of my kitchen almost :( wow, i could not imagine the upkeep on a tank that size, and craigg, you are welcome here, just because it is a site based on our area does not mean that people from other areas cannot join and post, you might have ideas for us or us for you that you would not know of otherwise
