I love Scarface, actually I like Bushwick Bill better, but thats a different story. And personally, if I was to quote something like "say hi to the badguy", I would give the credit to Icecube as that had a lot more punch to it than the Scarface southern drawl. I digress.

We have a rating system, if you think someone didn't behave properly, give them a rating, thats what its for.

I must say that once or twice maybe I got a "someone PM'd me first" or whatever. I would like to point out that shortly thereafter I received PMs stating "Hey I saw you were interested in _______ I have some growing like crazy in my tank. You can have some free if you like, I'll even be in your neighborhood soon so I can drop it off"

Yes you are all bastards! All of you that offer to bring free coral to my door!

In all seriousness I think the good FAR outweighs any bad that I've seen here. Some times people get into arguments as people do. Sometimes I've seen 5 people volunteer an entire DAY to help a fellow reefer move a tank FOR FREE!!!! What turned me onto this forum was the community of it. The selflessness of people just trying to genuinly help each other out.

Thanks to everyone at MR for the help you've all given me since I joined.

I am really sorry about that. Believe it or not, I had no intention not to sell you the frags. I can very easily make the same frags for you if you are still interested - I have pink and blue zoos. I will also give you fire and ice frag. Please let me know.

As far as pm - I sold some frags a few days ago and most of the frags wer purchased through pm and will be exchanged at the swap.

i have not been a member of this billboard for very long, but, since i have been a member here i have not been a happy "member". i have been lied to by three long standing members (over 1000+post) in regards to purchases. really, 3 members here, promised to sell me items, then at the last moment (ready to pick up item) they back out of the deal. and just 5 minutues ago, i posted before someone (a purchase again :smash: ), and i get a pm saying that the person that posted after me got the deal:question: .

I fail to see the 3 incidents you are talking about. When confronted with the facts you don't explain you throw things up in peoples faces who are trying to see the whole pic. Trust me there are people here I don't like. 2 have made my ignore list, but you're getting somewhat out of hand with the personal attacks. I understand that you're PO'd but dude you're acting like an EDP!!!

Ah, that Scarface, now it makes sense.... What was I thinking. (I was serious about Bushwick Bill though, that guy had great flow).

I think this is just about miscommunication, it sucks that your first experiences were not good, but there are a lot of people here that haven't had these problems, so why not give it another shot? There are very few negative ratings here, either people are generally nice, or they are very jaded. Try it again and decide for yourself.

Actually Josh, I like the entire GB crew (especially when Big Mike came in on the 'Till Death Do Us Part' album. Bring it on. But that's a different topic...

My experience has been totally different here. You're the new guy and no one knows you. I have picked up some great corals, gotton some good advice on stuff and met some nice people on this site. This site has some great people on it.

If I were you, I would chill and meet some peeps on the site. No reason to get into an uproar about stuff. Get to know the site and the people on it. You'll reazlize how nice MR is and get some great corals too...

now this is a response that has tact and reason...my reason for posting in the first place to let the exsisting members know that the "new guy" is not a "happy camper"...not to start putting people on blast and so forth...for what it is worth i have even sold corals to 3 members on this site...

Welcome and sorry your first few experienes are not good ones - prime example of how not to do business -

Today here and on RC one of our members posted something for sale - I was third to post with plenty of the item left for me as third poster. Many other MR members posted they wanted some and sure enough the person "sold them all" to the first guy even though he said he wanted only ten.

Totally lame a$$!! if you ask me. Here is how I treat douchebags like that:

1) Bad feedback
2) Never sell anything to them again
3) Never ever never ever will I buy anything from them
4) Charge them extra than everyone else on group buys (by now they should get the hint, I have never had to use this one cause "they get it" by then).

and then the typical social stuff, don't engage in conversation, avoid etc.

NOTE: my first action isn't to start a post bashing the site or the membership, my first reaction is #1 stated above. I understand you're frustrated (as am I after today) but your actions will gain more respect from the members you WANT respect from by not posting.

As a mod, I can't tell you how many times new members who have had a bad experience have sent me a private message asking me how I would handle.

I go by the once bitten twice shy rule, and give everyone a secoind chance cuase I think that people sometimes make bad judgements. If the second time, it happens again, I put down my bat and walk away from the plate, cause I know it's going to be a fastball down the plate - meaning, it will be 3 strikes. I go at two and walk away.

I think the new member comment has merit, but is not an excuse, I think you should keep that in perspective not as a justification to the behavior, but for people likely to sell to someone "they know" - a douchebag move, yes, I agree - unfortunatley, human nature is, well, human.

Anyhow, hope you can see beyond the actions of few and not judge the board by those few - there are hundreds of ethical reefers out there who you'd enjoy meeting.
