I did. Metalic wire. From radion hanging KIT.

Ok, what the reading? Red on metallic wire, black in round outlet hole.

Ok, that's what I figured. Had to walk u thru it. The metallic wire isn't grounded.
U have to ground the wire.
It hangs the lights?

Is the outside casing of the lights metal?

try using the grounding probe plug it in and touch the wire with the metal end of probe metal to metal and test

No. Its the ecotech radion. And they arnt screwed to cieling either. They connected to home depot branckets that are then screwed to wall behind tank.

please pull the plug and tell me if there are 2 prongs or 3

With the black in the round outlet hole, use the red to touch any metal area on the light or screws and let us know what u get.

The radion has a 3 prong. It goes to the big metal ecotech box.

now do what mike said test from the round hole in the outlet to the metalic wire

Nothing on the radion show a signal. Even when i touch the black screws that hold the hanging kit in. But when i touch the hanging kit conecter between the screw and the radion i get a reading again.

Its literally the hanging kit.

ok, few more questions
1. are the home depot brackets in the wall metal? if so test them with red lead, and black in ground hole.
2. in the pic, looks like there is extra wire from the hanging kit going down? where does it go?
3. unplug the lights from the wall, test to hanging kit again with red lead, black in ground hole.
