I gave you a suggestion bud. You get what you pay for. The Reefbrites are VERY high quality. If your dead set on LED than ditch the Acan and go AI. At 10" above the water you'll have about 24 square inches of coverage from a single unit. Slightly more if you can go a little higher. I've seen both the Acan and AI in person and the output of the AIs is a step above the Acan IMO. May be your best route. Still think a single 24" RB may be all you need. Their output is crazy.
I have an acan 600 and I dont agree with this at all. I have my fixture 13" above the water line. Running 55%w 100% blue at my brightest point of the cycle.
I could broil a pork chop under it at 100/100.
I saw the AI at 100/100 at PW in Carle Place last night nad "to MY eye" The AI doesn't seem as bright.

While I do not dispute what u are saying the acan has 1 Watt leds. The AI has 3 Watt u need to.run the acans higher rate of brightness then the AI. Now the new acans have 3 Watts which is a very nice addition. So do you have the new model of acan or old model.

im not sure which one i have.it was the A103 and they go for over 1800 so im guessing its a 3w bulb unit. but with my tank its hard to light the back and front so i need some supplemental for those spots. Acan has the strips but it would cost me another 350 for a 3ft strip and they dont make 18

Going by eye they may seem brighter but the PAR the AI's kick out is CRAZY. What king of coverage are you getting with the Acan at 13"? The new 600 are definitely brighter than the older Acan's.

And from what I can see I see no Acan fixture that is running 3W Cree's. If I missed it let me know.

Come on Duke. You see the acan strips every month over our left 92. Lol. Give me a call Monday. I will help you figure something out. I have some ideas. Have a great weekend.

Your A103 uses 3W LEDs but we only run them at a littlie over 1W. That's why we use moe LEDs than anyone. More bulbs that will last longer.

its a very well built unit but you know Ken how hard it is to light the 92 corner you have 2 :) . just getting tired of the shadows in the back and towards the front part of the tank. like i said i should have upgraded to a rectangle tank 2 years ago instead of this tank :(
