Marvin i dont know about MI but in the metro area we got some hardcore anemone people. The only thing we dont have is some of those BTA variants.
awesome! I wished I still had my Lemon Drops, Sunbursts, and Flame Tip. :( :(

that's what happens when you go on vacations I guess. I'll try to stick with RBTA's for now that are easy access since one of our local reefers has about 80-100 of them and continuously split for him. :) :)

one of these days, I'll include the above BTA's into the mix.

My bt nem tank is tiny 20 gal. 10 gal sump housing Rio Nano skimmer, heaters, return pump split through a SWD (don't recall brand), will be placing a TLF reactor with GFO at some point. Koralia #2 at mid point on back wall, MJ 900 with the strainer placed behind the center of the rocks blowing detritus out from under the rocks for easy clean up. DIY LEDs. BB, couple pieces of smallish lr & 2 medium old coral skeletons from my FO days. One ocellaris, one snowflake clownfish. Had to remove the other snowflake cause it was beating up the smaller one.:( Tank has been running since January with only 1 issue. One of the bta finding it's way in to the koralia (the koralia was to close to the nems, not the case now). Since then no issues.
I do have some reject from my 155 in there too.lol zoas, leather, and 1 head frogspawn. As well as the Niger that is on time out.hehehe

I added this anemone to my tank on Friday, and she's been doing great so far. I'm very happy with her, but my Saddleback pair was not so lucky :(. I'm not sure if they caught ich or they were stung badly, but the female died 2 days after introduction, and was extremely healthy. It's my fault for not QT'ing the anemone or the fish. Lesson definitely learned the hard way this time.

Yeah the anemone is definitely huge. That pic was taken before lights were at 100% also. Right now the anemone is more than an inch larger all around.

And unfortunately, the female was the large clown you saw the other day. I'm still trying to save the male. I have not figured out the cause yet.

I agree 100% with Wingo. I currently have 11 in my tank and they stay in the island I created for them. I've only had one that actually tries to walk on the sand. My setup will eventually be a bta only tank. I love them all

Agreed that BTAs stay put better when isolated on an island. They are also less likely to move if given a nice hole to hide their foot in.
