Now that they're circulating throughout MR, I'm just curious if people think a wp25 would be overkill on a 34 rimless solana. I purchased two. One alone is working amazingly on my 45g.
Everyone's .02 would be appreciated.
Anyone running one on a small tank? Settings and position of pump ?

I just hooked mine up tonight. Just got finished organizing my wires and wiping down the tank and everything. I have 1 wp-25 on my 55 gallon and I took all my other powerheads off because the flow is amazing. I have it set on else mode I was playing around with all the other ones but didn't really take the time to see what the differences are. One will be plenty for your tank. In the couple minutes I was watching all my corals, my duncan was getting way too much flow so I angled the powerhead up a little bit more. It started to "throw up" its junk. Hope it is okay.

As far as a 34 gallon, if you break up the flow like Wingo said, that would be good. Just keep it on the lowest setting possible which according to the directions are s3.

The one in my 45g I have 1/2 way up the tank, on the left side under my over flow. Its angled up and a little forward. Been using it on else and s3 or w1 and s3 with the knob dialed about 50-60%. those are my fave settings atm from what I've played with.. All corals seemed happy, flow all over the tank. Tomorrow I will try my other out on the solana I guess. Just a little nervous. I have a small phobia with rimless tanks, lol scared ill blow the walls off or some craziness.::cringesss:: anyone using it on a tank smaller than a 45?? Or do I have a wp25 in the smallest tank so far???

hypnotic has it on a 15g not sure how it is working out. I got one for a 30rr but its not up and running at the moment. I have a 17g aio but figured it would be way too much to even try.

Which controller do you have cause jevao just made a new version controller (f1)12 modes which allow you to control the flow from 50%-100%.instead of the old 6 mode that you need to buy a power supply to control the flow.

Awesome =] let me know how it goes on the 30rr when u set it up. I'd rather keep the other pump out of water till I know the tank can handle it. What are the dimensions btw?

You have a controller? Its a DC pump, how could it be 'too big'? Just dial the voltage down till it works as you want.

Well I never said too big, I said to strong. Even with it dialed all the way down on my 45g, like I said... It's working my whole tank with alot of flow. The 34 solana is 20x20x20 well... Less since its reef ready. I'm asking if anyone else has one on a smaller style tank.
