Hey guys i need about 80lbs of sand. I usually use pink fiji (i have about 20lbs from the last build) Im looking for something heavier but just as nice to use in my new tank build. i also don't want to spend a fortune on sand :sigh:

My main problem with pink fiji is it blows around easily.

Thanks everyone

Petco sand. I recommend rinsing the sand before using it. I have used petco sand a bunch of times without rinsing it. The majority of the sand sinks instantly. Some will float but once you mix the top of the water a little it will sink. There is no clouding with it.

Is it the best sand? I have no idea. Does it have a ton of silicate? Maybe, but I don't know. But it is a very heavy sand. I have a video of me dumping a bag into my tank. I will try and find it.

Wow you must really hate petco sand lol. The one duromega reccomended is great too. Especially for burying fish like wrasses. I actually switched one of my tanks from the petco sand to the caribsea because my stingrays couldn't bury themselves. It was to heavy.
