I use the screw-on top ones to hold bulk carbon, Kalk, Mag flake, Dow flake, and extra PVC fittings. I think I had 15 buckets of different stuff in the base at one time:D. They are also great to keep your sidewalk salt in, no moisture can get in to clump the stuff together.

I loan my wife a bucket to brine her turkey in this year:lol2:
I thought your sidewalk salt is just extra ingredients for the 2 part you keep aside not to let your wife bug you for having too many fish stuff.:lol2:

I used them for all of the above(including how Deep uses them) except as a street drum. I use computer and CD for that. Dog Fish I will find you in the subway and buy one of your CD. So watch out for a bond hair Asian.:lol2:

I also use it to hold hampsters when I clean their tanks.

the next question would have to be 'how many of these buckets do you have sitting around the house?' (cali, if you dont have the time to count, we understand, you can just state 100+)

water changes, holding DI water, media buckets for my orchids (coconut husk chips in one, bark in another, cocopeat in a 3rd...use the buckets for soaking it as well as storing it), mop bucket, and the most important...fishing bucket! Nothing beats the sight of a fish too big to fit in the bucket, with its tail sticking out the top.......Take care, Eric

Thought I'd drag this back out since we have a lot of noobies around, maybe they've come up with some more creative ways to use their empty salt buckets...or you can tell us how many of them you currently have stacked up? :)

I use Oceanic and they come in those blue jugs...so out with the step stool, chair....but they do make a great saltwater contrainer, I just drilled a hole on the side and put a plastic faucet there...works like a charm...whenever I need saltwater for the change i Just turn it on :D

edit:
That's what I do to the 90 gallon jug...the 50's are great for detergent soap and top-off water...with the mouth it makes it so much easier.

I don't mix the top-off and detergent if that's what someone's thnking :D! :lol2:
