Dude I'm pretty sure we all at one time or another have had shame stories. I know I have and I congratulate you for being aware a mistake was made and showing us many mistakes and accidents that can happen due to being, careless, lazy, or just not realizing,in this hobby. As in your case you did not know what your tank would look like when you got back. It takes balls to do something like this.
This is something we need to read and reflect upon. Because it all happened to us its called human error. A lot of species of fish and corals can be kept in aquariums its just up to us to try to be as responsible as we can to provide the best enviornment for our animals no matter what. Unfortuntely we are only human.
As far as the fish go they look good from what I see they are just battle scars now. I see no red irritated flesh. They will always have scars.I'm very proud you decided to remain responsible and stopped whatever ailments or diseases they had no matter what it was. Kudos for that.
This is a post that no matter what it is. Don't give me oh they are eating and swimming fine and then all of a sudden dead no that's weird. Or I take it home from your tank acclimate and everything is fine then one day later dead no. How do they survive freezing cold temp on planes being thrown around.it comes down to the supplier to dip,qt, feed, watch maintain for more than a week at least b4 selling. Its eating has no definitive meaning to me that any fish or animal isn't sick. Its BS. You see these fish I don't care how hardy they are they went through a lot and they are alive.a lot of post on MR have been makin me mad lately just because we all know why. But the question is why are our animals still alive? Because we just throw them in a tank or because we care. Ask yourself.
