Time to spend some of my bonus check so, I'm going to Harbor Aquatics tomorrow to buy some rock and some softies. I haven't been there for a while. I think I'm excited!

Make sure it's cans and not bottles. JT's particular about his drink.

Pete: Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. We are still doing a bunch of remodeling so don't expect to see much new. In fact, our selection of clams and SPS's are still dreadfully low because work is still going on on those systems and I don't order livestock when I am changing stuff. I'm just waiting for electrical work to be completed for the new fish system and the move of the SPS and clams. Live Rock is doing great as always however, in addition to softies and LPS.

I bought 100 lbs. on April 26th from Harbor Aquatics. I have had virtually no ammonia spike at all. Nitrites went slightly up, but my live sand bed wasn't fully mature, so it could be residual from that as well.

Most of the Sargassum seaweed on my live rocks has been munched down by critters or died back, apparently because I have too much light. In it's place, I have identified at least 11 different types of plants or macro-algae, most of which look better than the Sargassum anyway.

I think there has been at least one reproductive cycle from the micro-critters, because I have seen a recent explosion of copepods on the glass, worm trails in the sand, swimming worms that come out during my simulated dusk phase. (Tank lights off, with weak room lights still on.) Tiny unidentified snails less than 2mm in length. Amphipods making little burrows under shells and in the holes in the rocks. (Appearing to prey on the copepods)

In addition, larger creatures that hitch-hiked include (at minimum):

6 Stomatella snails
1 Large snail (Believed to be a whelk, but so far has not preyed on the Stomatellas. Seems to dig through the sand for food.)
2 Bristleworms
4 other worms (look like small earthworms, possibly peanut worms)
1 unidentified strange Nudibranch (seems to be growing, although apparently Nudibranches are specialized feeders)
1 unidentified light avoiding anemone
1 small clam (Possibly some more in some rocks)
1 larger clam (Spondylus varians possibly)
2 unidentified starfishes (1 possibly if starfishes can change color from white/orange to blue/brown)
2 black sea cucumbers

Some pictures are on this thread:

Harbor's site has been functional all along. JT is in the middle of revamping it now- I got a sneak peek at some of the new formatting about 4 hours ago.

Hey JT, if you read my thread on moving a reef tank, you will know that I will be in the market for lots of frags (I need to pick up some large pieces of live rock as well). Do you contemplate offering any deals on large packages??

*nod* This is something planned for the near future as well. Can't go into specifics in this forum.

I just got a sneak peek at the new website as well and I think you'll all be pleasantly suprised with all the work JT's put into the new website.

Those are minimum quantities. I literally counted 5 different snails at one time, all being visible. (And the shells and sizes are actually distinctive...I must spend too much time watching the things) There could be more. Also the worms seem to be coming out of the same holes every night. I believe I have seen 3 concurrently.

And regarding the two starfish...I have seen two similarly sized starfish with completely different color schemes. (My son things the legs are different sized, though as the lengths are somewhat lopsided.)

My bad.
I should have said updated, as apposed to funtional. It *does* function, but it doesn't really matter, if you don't know what they have.
