personally I think we should appoint kirtis a moderator on this BB his wealth of knowledge expierence and insight into fast tank cycling methods would eliminate the need for patience on the part of newcomers and our ranks would grow by leaps and bounds

Some people can't spell. Others can't use punctuation.

AHEM.....others cant use punctionation. as I recall from english class, this is a dependent clause and therefore not a complete sentence. It needs a subject (i.e some people) and should therefore be seperated by a comma not a period.

You see, Rover, some people can use punctuation but choose not to because it slows down their typing. Other people (<---subject)think they can use puncuation but use it incorrectly.

Perhaps we can start a remedial class for you and kirtis.

er.. I think you mean "can't" and "punctuation."

seperated
That should be separated.

There is a difference between the improper use of punctuation and bad grammar. I used bad grammar. This is perfectly acceptable in the less formal setting of a reef bulletin board. You used poor punctuation which results in difficulty to understand your meaning. The latter is extremely important in a non-verbal setting.

I know, it's been a while since I've thought that. As much of an *ss as he was, JC's posts were hysterical sometimes. Retired half way to middle age...

a few bones to pick...

I started saltwater when i was 13 like alex. I did the typical- 55 gal, cc,no skimmer, yellow tang, 4 damsels, 2 percs in the first three months. I hawever didnot claim to know anything then. I knew i was dumb. I have come along way in the past couple years and can talk reefs with the best of um (RC and reefs.org).
KIRTIS-
I think a 17 year old should be old enough to handle the responsiblity of a tank. Maybe if you bought your own stuff and spend your own cahs you would care more. If you need answers to stupid (newbie) q's there's a search feature. Try it sometime. It would save threads like this.

also, you had better not be john@carline
