Just wondering what kind of experience the sump has.

This goes for how long you did before you stopped if you don't have one now....SM

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is something fundamentally messed up with people who want to keep reef aquariums as a hobby. Out of their minds, all of them. ;)

The systems at the labs are more than enough for me.

I think it has been around 5 or 6 years for saltwater, but before that I had freshwater tanks for most of my life.

I smoked reefer in high school but not in a very long time so do I get to claim all the years from then untill now as experience?

Been involved with it for a little over 2 years but my tanks have only been up for about 18 months. I did a lot of reading and research before I set my tank up.

It's been awhile. I tried to keep salts with no luck and then the wet-dry came about and I have been hooked since.

Fresh tanks before that.

Then it would have to be (well) over 10 years (I'm assuming that I can count customers' tanks, right?)

Uuuhhh.. yeah, sure, why not? I mean, if Tom Wolfe was able to write (quite astutely, I would like to add) about frying without ever having fried himself.. of course, I'm assuming that you remember what happened during those years.. <shrug>

I've been keeping marine fish since I was 13, so that's 20 years. That is my real area of expertise. I maintained the reefs at the LFS I worked at when I was younger, but I've been keeping my own reefs for 3 years now.
While I've been successful at keeping and growing acros and such, I still don't know that much about them. :D

Going on 5 years for me...never thought it'd happen, but I'm still fascinated by the whole schmeer...

Peace,

 Why did I think you were older?

I dunno. Let's find out. Could it be my amazing command of the english language? My encyclopedic knowledge of all things fish? My unwavering maturity? (Ok, maybe that ones a stretch) :D
Or, maybe I come off like a geezer in my posts? Maybe only someone who has been beaten down and dragged through the ringer can post as I do? Because I sound tired, finished, half dead already with one foot in the grave?

I think an addition good poll question would be 'How much time do you speed on RDO?' I'm fairly new and racking up several hours a day- but I'd be willing to bet a lot of you sleep at the computer desk for 20 minutes a day inbetween your posts
