Yes, but money runs this planet

about your sig....

where do you get the ridiculous and absolutely incorrect statistic that 80% of painted fish die in the process ?

more than 80% happen to survive it quite well, and it hardly bothers the fish at all during the process

or are you one of those non-informed peta types ?

To be honest, the misspelling of BOYCOTT was what caught my attention. :?

I saw that too

I can't speak for the stats in his sig one way or the other, but it's abuse and disrespect to the animal any way you slice it.

:D Ditto.... and apparently another species of anemone behind the 1200 one. Seems quite a risk to take.

I still get a hoot over the bleached out SPS colonies that are on the edges of the photographs...

Actually, that SPS is the rare Space Ghost Acro, originating from the Republic of Ignis Fatuus in Propecia.

Sorry, couldn't help it. :?

P.S. there are only 3% of fish keepers intelligent/vigilant enough to notice painted fish...

Dyed anemone's are a whole other matter though, isn't their death rate almost 100% when dyed?

BTW Lord Nikon, Here's a quote for you:

" What the hell are you guys doing?"

" Putting on the foil" "Yeah, we do it before every game, want some?"

"Old time hockey, like Eddie Shore"

Dang, I got to watch that movie again!

But the best in that one is "She's a L(censored)! She's a L(censored)"

Now that reread the thread, Yano's probably referring to vitz's abrasive post. Ignore vitz: he's a knucklehead ;):P:twisted:8)

I did not make this, I don't know who did. I would make my own but a friend gave me his PS7 CD after he got CS. Well I lost the CD before I installed it, and I have Fireworks but I don't know how to use it. But those stats are a bit off. They should say UP to 80% died. I can dig through google again and find were these stats are. And if you buy dyed fish your a idiot because the dye will fade in a few months. No I'm not some PETA hippie. I LOVE TO EAT MEAT!!!!!! I don't know about the 97% thing, but I would say its more about 80% Some fish you can't really tell. Beside its cruel, some methods do not use needles, some are dipped in a caustic solution to remove their slime coat, then they are dipped in a dye and then dipped in a solution that irritates their skin to produce a slime coat.

Sorry, I have been a little sensitive after my friend of 6 years nearly died of alcohol poisoning(as well as being well below the legal age limit) then started smoking pot. I did some yelling and we have not talked in months. I have even been shunned and banned from forums just for my feelings twards France.

Jim

given that the fish are anesthetized beforehand, how is it abuse ?

given that it makes the fish more attractive (and therefore more VALUABLE) to the buyer, how is it disrespect ?

do you even know how it's done?

look....

like it or not, we treat fish as a commodity, and we tend to alter everything we commerce with to suit our tastes

there really is no difference between painting a fish, and altering a wolf to become a bulldog w/a highly deformed and problem laden nasal passage

the fish painting is only temporary, and the fish are really none the worse for wear

i've never experienced anything to imply that painted fish were weaker or more stressed put than their non-painted counterparts

did you notice how what's his name buggered out of here as soon as he realized that all he had was sensationalist rhetoric, w/absolutely no factual data to back up that ridiculous org.'s claim?
