AND wallpaper the miniblind with something like this....

You can even wallpaper it different depending on the mood...

You could put some nice christmas scene on it now, and then you could have one for every holiday...\

Mention that to the wife and see what she thinks.

I dare ya.....

Okay. Here is the update with pics that I have been promising.

The pictures show the black curtain that I installed behind the tank. I think the tank looks better on the main viewing side. The curtain is easy enough to open when I need access from the rear.

I have changed out my return pump and plumbing again. The current configuration is an Iwaki RLT 40 for the return pump. The return is split and and ran to a penductor on each end. Those penductors are pointed in the same direction as the Tunze Stream at each end. The current is really rocking. There is obvious wave action across the top of the tank. :D.

Here is my list of animals that are currently in the tank. (I have $500 worth of LE's coming this week :D)

12-Astrea's
4-Mexican Turbo's
12 - Cerinth Snails
10 - Huge Mexican Turbos'
Foxface Rabbitfish
Acropora Prostrata (purple/lavender tips)
Atlantic Blue Tang and Clownfish from the 75G
Rose Millepora (ORA Cultured)
Indo purple tip Acro (ORA Cultured)
Acorpora Insignis (Bali Cultured)
(3) brittle stars
2" Derasa clam
Acropora stag (beige with blue tips)
Cleaner shrimp
Blood shrimp (missing now)
LE Larry Jackson Purple Monster (Acropora Valida)
LE Tyree Steve Elias Stag (Acropora Loiseettae)
LE Acropora Solitaryensis
ROAB Hot Pink Prostrata (see ExocticReef.com)
Montipora Cap Leng Sy Clone
5 Scott's fairy wrasses (all but two died)
LE Tyree Purle Monster
Superman Monti
Robin Egg Encrusting Porites
Aquarium City Acropora Formasa
Lyretail Anthias' (5 females, 1 male)
Achilles Tang
Sailfin Tang (Phillipines)
Royal Blue A. Hoeksemai
Green Polyp A. Plana w/ Purple Tips
Oregon Tort, Blue with blue polyps

And now for the pics....

Thanks Bryan.

I have had that Gigas for 3 years now. See all that new growth on his edges? He's had a bit of a growth spurt lately. I hope I can keep him alive until his size becomes a problem for me. I just hope that isn't too soon.

Looks great, Louey! You're gonna be a heavy hitter in Florida's rare coral trade :D

What color spots does your gigas have?

dumb question, but how does a clam grow?

Certainly not a dumb question. I'll try not to give a dumb answer, though :D

A clam's shell is composed of calcium carbonate. Like other mollusks with a shell (snails for instance), their fleshy and slimy mantles contain glands that secrete these deposits to create new shell growth.

Awesome tank Louey!

You've apparently have the patience of incredible proportions to design and put that together.

And it really shows.

Excellent. Thanks for sharing that with all of us.

Louey- looks fantastic! Love how the gigas acts like a centerpiece for the aquascape. Nice to see all your cultured frags as well. One question (forgive my ignorance) what is "LE"?

Thanks. The whole aquascape is designed around the Gigas being the center piece. He's gonna get huge!

LE stands for Limited Edition corals.

I will never understand skimmers...

How come the foam in the main area is snow white, but the foam at the top is soooooo dirty?
