I started this project last november after purchasing a house in Seattle. I wont be moving into it until June of 06'. My goal is to be order live rock befor december of this year. I will probably beat that but have to take into account that moving accross country isnt cheap and new jobs that you are happy with dont neccesarily jump out at you. So far I've had two ten day trips and one four day trip to work on the house. I wont make it up there again until Easter. Keep in mind, I'm a General Contactor so this could be done after that much time. But I have to do other things at the house to keep the wife happy. Such as paint bathrooms, hang towel bars, replace heaters, mow the lawn, and the list goes on. So here are the pics including my current 15 G.

Just a little update.
Nothing overly exciting for the old pros but for me new toys are always good.
My list as of today:
120 gallon AGA reef ready
25 gallon Eshopps sump
31 Gallon DIY refugium (20x16x24 wanted volume but had small space for foot print)
2x250Watt PFO DE mini pendant with phoenix 14k
2x250 icecap ballast
220 watt ice cap Retro VHO kit with 1 10k daylight and 1 actinic
96 watt quad for refugium
64 watt 50/50 for quarantine
15 gallon quarantine
ultra life float switch for top offs
2) 23 gallon garbage cans for RO and salt water
5)various power heads
125GPD 6 stage RO/Di filter
DJ power bar for a total of 15 off/on switches
and my new ASM G-3 skimmer that just arrived today

Im annoyed as heck at ASM. I ordered the gate valve mod kit but have no clue how to attach it to the skimmer. No directions and nothing on the web site as far as I can see. I want to set it up now! Who wants to wait to play? Not me. Just venting. I'll PM anenomebuff. I know he has one set up.

Next Question. The rule of thumb is to only run through your sump what your skimmer can process. My skimmer has a sedra 5000 rated at 500 gph. After the venturi my guess is that realistically it will likely only move up to 30% of that amount. Thats only 150 GPH. My plan was, or is, to get a MAG 24 for the sump. Which after head loss will move about 1700 GPH. I plan to use 1000 for the display and 700 for the refugium . Also a Barracuda on a closed loop which after head loss will push about 3500 GPH. I am planning to split it to . Half to an ocean motions super squirt and half constant. this will give me a 29x turnover in the dispaly and a 23x turnover in the refugium. What do you think? Good or bad? I didn't figure you all would want pics right now as most everything is in boxes.

Four more months untill the move. I just had to contract another kitchen due to lack of work in Seattle until July. Darn, I would love to move in June. Or now for that matter.

Just thought I'd post my latest purchase so you could all let me know if I screwed up or not.
PUMPS:
Ordered 2 mag 18s and one mag 24. Read some reviews and what do you do? Use your best judgement and hope. It sure would be easier if all the old pros in here would have told me exactly what to buy four months ago.
My super squirt is ordered as well.

Next step. Finish tank room. Trim, paint, floor, cabinets, sink and then move. I am making one last working trip for easter. Pics of hopefully finished tank room will follow.

If you were wanting submersible pumps mags are the way to go. I ran 2ea 18's and 1ea 12 on my old 110. Never had any problems. I actually ran mine external and that was good also. Mark sure you have some padding between the pump and where you will have it set. If not you will get a vibration hum.

I knew I wanted one mag for the sump any way. I decided to go with two for closed loop instead of one barraccuda just so I could have more options with flow control. Lucky me. If I dont like them I can put one in my pond in the front yard and use the other for my future 90 softy tank.
Yes you heard right. My wife has already approved a second tank. I have her hooked on the beauty of it all. The plan now is to have the 120 SPS dominated show tank and the 90 softy (wife llike softies better) in the office. Wonder what those electric bills will be like?

Only four more months till the move.
