I'd like to add another fish or two to my tank. Something that gets big would be nice.

My current fish are:
Atlantic Blue Tang
Sailfin Tang
Foxface Rabbit fish
Ocellaris Clown
Scott's Fairy Wrasse
Harlequin Tusk
4 Lyretail Anthias (1 male - 3 females)

I'd like to add a pair of manderinfish too at a some point.

I'd like another big fish or two. Something that gets as big as the tangs, rabbitfish and the tusk.

What do you guys think would go good with the above fish?

The fish needs to be reef safe. I have clams and SPS out the wazoo.

The tank is 300G with 475 total gallons in the system. I would consider lightly stocked at this point, yes?

How about a marine betta or a big hawk fish? "course you couldn't have shrimp.

Get one or two more female Scotts. For a big fish, consider a Crosshatch trigger (more or less reefsafe) :) A pair of Genicanthus angels would be nice.

Sorry for not responding to anyone in this thread. My computer crashed today and that has kept me tied up trying to repair it. I am using another computer now and will attend to this thread later.

Thanks for all for suggestion so far. I'll do a search on the fish mentioned that I am not familar with.

Feel free to make more suggestions.

I just looked up the marine betta. That is a cool look fish. My tusk already precludes me from having shrimp, so that's no biggie.

A hawkfish might work too. I'll consider that one.

Cuban Hogfish.

The skinny at The Marine Center says:

Not recommended. Smaller individuals usually do not cause many problems in the reef aquarium, but as they grow they are a potential threat to snails, worms, ornamental crustaceans, and possibly corals.

Out.

Louey,
If the Tusk is still in its juvi state, you could get away with coral bandit shrimp or two(breeding pair)

I originally recieved 5 Scott's. No one sells them as males/females, so you just have to hope the numbers work out and you wind up with a small harem. Well, 2 of the 5 didn't ship well and were dead within a week. One more always hid and was dead within a month. That left me with two healty fish. One was more dominate than the other and constantly harrassed him and he eventually succumbed to the agression. Now I have one. Don't know if it is male or female and have no way of ordering a mate (or mates) for it.

Scott's are beautiful fish.

SOHAL TANG, would make a great addition

Sohal's were on my original list of must have fish for this tank. I am now afraid that a Sohal wouldn't work out with my Atlantic Blue and Sailfin. I am fairly sure that the fighting amongst any new tang that I add would be the death of one of them. So more tangs are off my list. At least for now anyways.

I wonder if I got a large Sohal if the my existing tangs would be smart enough to leave him alone? Or is it my existing fish that would get beaten up by the new Sohal? I dunno.

Nah. He's 5" long already. I had a cleaner shrimp, a blood shrimp and a peppermint shrimp when I first added the tusk. Notice the key word: had. I knew they were at risk, but really wanted the tusk. That tusk is a cool fish. I love it!

Yes the Tusk are one of the Best IMO 2, I had one and lost it in Katrina, I am going to get another one but have to wait for two things, one a small Tusk and my Dragon wrasse to get a little bigger.
Anyways The reason I picked a coral banded shrimp, They have the claws. I ut two in my 150 with three triggers in it. They both defended themselfs the RIGHT to live in the tank. Now they walk all over the tank like they have lived there the whole time and nobody even bothers them.
The next time I go out and get a couple I will send them to you to try. The worst case, you get some free food
