Hi fellow reefers and fish lovers
,
I saw the message that I should do an introduction, not sure where to post it or what to write..so here it goes...
I live in Columbia County (moved here 23 years ago from Rye, NY/Westchester County)
I'm still new to this hobby compared to so many folks that I meet. Been doing SW for a little over 2 years now.
I have cut back on tanks in my house to 180 reef, 180 aggressive fowlr, 120 reef, 75 reef, 24 RBTA/mated GSM, 12RBTA/mated True Percs. and two 6 gallon nightstand mantis nano tanks...I say cut back because I was up to 2000 gallons at one point. (mostly for rehabilitating fish and corals)
I found a way to move tanks out and get my 'fix' by setting up a program at my local school 'Aquariums in the Classroom'. I have been volunteering there for the last 1 1/2 years.
I am a happy member of CTARS, on the BOD for HVRK, and I'm on the BOD for Marine Council of North America (MASNA).
In addition to the school, clubs, council and my love of anemones is my interest in rehabilitating stressed/wounded/injured fish. I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Fish Health Management course this past year at the North Carolina State University. (very cool experience)
I have been blessed to be able to attend an NEC, IMAC in '06, MACNA Houston and MACNA PA, NERAC '07, Drs. Foster and Smith '07 and the NJ event last month. (two kids in college and putting the tuition on my credit card gets me free airfare
and a husband that travels for works sometimes scores hotel points)
Also, some of you might of seen me at MACNA XIX/PA...Usually folks might know me from the red hair but this time I was the idiot with the lovely black eye and stitches in my face. It was a 'fishy' accident.
My husband and I are planning on attending the event on Dec. 9th and would like to join your club.
I am excited and looking forward to meeting you folks
Linda C.
