HI...Got out of the army in june of 1962 .... Went back to scuba diving and set up my first tank in sept. 1962.....A lot has changed since then.. i collected seahorses at rockaway beach 8 street.... It use to be a good spot for diveing.. just found out about this fourum ............ very nice forum............EDDIE.....

Welcome to MR. Nice to have another 'hey day reefer' on board.

Is your current tank the same as the one you set up in 1962? If it is, you'd have the unofficial record. We've got another 30 yr reefer on our site (same tank for 30 yrs :rolleyes: )

Hi and Thanks for the warm welcome..I am not setting up any thing right now.. but will wait untill after the summer.....I have been away from it for a few years.... My buddy who has POLY BIO MARINE---(KENNY ) has been trying to talk me into comming out to Reading PA.and setting up a breeding station for clowns & other marine fish......But I just dont know if I have it in me any more...thanks again..eddie

NO I dont have the same tank any more.... I was married in 66 so i gave the tank away...I did keep the seahores for 3 years...sometimes they would try an breed...Back then there was no all glass tanks --no nothing eddie

Yes Masterswimmer....But i used beach sand instead of the under gravel ..also i used 2 out side filters.... i think they were called AQUA MASTERS with a metal sharft.. the only salt was RILER & NEPTUNE...Or get the water from the 69 street peir in brooklyn on a incomming tide..................eddie................

eddie is forgetting to tell everyone he owned marine tropical imports for 45 years it was the largest in the country for years ,now he is retired and i own the business now but i am trying hard to get him back in it when i open the new shop next month ,he set up public aquariums in this country and in manilla ,

I know Eddie ( and his partner Artie) since the early 80's.
I used to run the salt section for Aqua pet on 20th ave and 65th street in Brooklyn. Eddie is a wealth of information!
I remember walking into his place on targee street immdeiatly to your right was a large tank ( not ssure might have ben a 225?) and it was the biggest Queen angel I had ever seen in a tank! colors were outrageous! along with that was an adult french angel.

one of the things that impresses me most about eddie was if I had a question about a rare fish or invert he was honest and knowledgable
