I dont understand? You won't cut a mushroom to propagate because you were concerned about their feelings...and you were all over SeaWorld after watching Blackfish...but taking coral from a protected reef is a waste of $$$??? When you showed back up on the site I had thought you had learned something...apparently once a troll always a troll. Welcome back!

If you guys were 100% concerned you wouldn't even have tanks. And leave everything in the ocean, so don't go around with your chest puffed out thinking your righteous.

Not righteous! My only point is that we cannot remove all forms of life from the sea and if possible support aquacultured or captive bred species.

One of the goals to responsible reef/fish keeping is to achieve a nice display and I believe that this should be at a cost, but not at a cost to our environment.

Responsible and sustainable wild collection/ mariculture is also an important part of the equation if you are serious about preserving reefs. Done responsibly, collection for the aquarium trade is a lucrative and viable source of income for local populations. Without it, many are left with no choice but more destructive survival strategies. The key here is responsible and sustainable which requires oversight and regulation which occurs in some areas, but doesn't in others. Certainly, breaking the law is neither responsible nor sustainable and those who do need to be held accountable.

The hobby itself needs to take a step back and think about where they are buying from. ORA and Reefgen are examples of where we should be buying from not huge wild collected colonies that end up dying before they end up in a tank.
