Ricordeas, quite a busy subject!

The ricordea discussion really grabbed my attention and made me want to join this forum. Instead of a welcoming note, I got a lot of offensive private messages which even included someone doubting my residence!
For those of you IP-hunters, I flew from Florida this morning back home. A Psychiatrist, just like everyone else is entitled to go wherever he wishes without having to give anyone any explanations of his whereabouts! Yes, I am a man of the world and a frequent flyer! And this is all the information anyone in the forum will receive from me. For this reason we adopt nicknames so as to keep our personal lives away from a discussion Internet forum! Anyway, I was amazed that out of all I wrote no one bothered to make any comments about the so written letter by this Liuetenent transcribed by our forum colleagre FragMaster....

It's a shame you were given such a hard time here. That's not the usual welcome I'm familiar with from this board. Please keep in mind that the majority of people here are good decent folk. You seem to have attracted the attention of the vocal minority.

I hope you can give the site a chance but I can understand why you might not want to exert the effort after the embarassing greetings you've received so far.

I think you have received a less than warm welcome due to assumptive accusations and quasi attacks regarding a topic that has already been 'nasty'. When that happens, most of the content of the posting will be ignored by many in this forum. This not only happens to you, but to Fragmaster and others. one would think a doctor that is worthy of beverlyhills would be well to do, and very popular in the more well to do circles right? plenty of advertising, a listed practice ect ect..... BTW since he is "back" in Beverlyhills now Someone look up th IP again. Should ring true now right?

Has any one googled "Eugenes" history yet?
I did.
Guess what? In the entire state of California there is no Dr. Eugene Lipstein. Hmmm? coincidence?

I agree, there is nothing wrong with calling it like it is. What can be problematic is the way people choose to call it like it is.

I have reasonable suspicions as well. For lots of reasons. Stating that suspicion and asking questions vs. making unsubstantiated accusations are two very very different things.

Well all I know is if you go to the link below and scroll down the page you will see 2 of fragmasters ricordia tanks.

And then on another thread fragmaster states

At the present time I would say that roughly 60 percent (give or take) of my ricordia were propagated by me.

I am not saying whether or not I believe fragmaster or not, but I am saying that the pictures of the 2 tanks of ricordias fragmaster posted did not show a single propagated polyp.

This is not ment to be argumentative. it is ment to be explanatory. It is hard to read real emotion through type (especialy mine).

The ricordea in the partial shot were new arrivals, that were gone almost as soon as I got them. Yes they were wild collected.
60 percent of the rics in the full tank shot had been growing for almost 7 months. When was the last time you saw a piece of fijii live rock with ricks on it come out of the caribbean? When was the last time you were able to get fully grown colonies of ricordea on rock from Florida? You cant.
All those rics on shells,and smaller rocks starterd out as either cuttings from a single polyp, or no more than two wild collected polyps. See all those tiny rics in the bottom?
Ricordea that small would not have survived the shipment if I got those
Wild collected. They would have not even been able to pry them off of the rock they were on with out killing them man.
The term propogated does not have to mean "a cut polyp". They do subdivide. Hence most all of the single polyps on the substrate.
Not all but close to half onthe substrate.
The ricordea you saw in the second shot , the partial shot,were left from the 200 or so rics I got from a guy who went out of business when the last hurricane tore his entire system up ( over 15,000 gallons worth of out side holding tanks and all the stock in them were flooded with fresh water from the rain, or tipeed over and destroyed when the oning came down.)

But they arent collected illegaly. I posted a link to the place my friend works for once. That served a dual purpose, advertising for Tom,and so you could see I get my stuff from a legit guy. They have two comercial liscences, one for Tom and one for my friend. ( well had, they sold one recently I think? which if it hasnt been sold is still on thier website for sale, I havent checked) My friend collects ric's when he is outcollecting orders for his cousin Tom. But all legaly. The only reason I use the phrase
"my friend" ,and not his name, is because I dont want to give up my only source for them when I need them ya know.
I know alot of my posts dont read the way I intend them to to some people. It happends.
Tell you what though,I am going to be cutting the be-jesus out of some polyps comming in this weekend that are coming in today ot tomorow. I will take pics of it all and post them in.....( where should I post them? General discussion?)

Haven't seen tru state of Florida colonies in a spell, but, I've seen Haitain ric. florida colonies the size of basket balls for sale, heck, I've wholesaled a ton of them myself over the years. Those colonies almost always have really small ones on them as well.
