  1. Few pics to share

Looks great....the photo of the brain has nice contrast.
  2. Updated Tank Pic

    Excellent photos....love the colours
  3. A pic or two with the new camera

Looks great :-) As a suggestion I would say you could proably under expose the photo a little more. Just a tiny tiny bit. The tops of the legs look kinda washed out. Still excellent.
  4. Skimmer or refugium?

IMO a skimmer is a must, and a fuge is optional.....Obviously both is the best of both worlds. Never compromise the quality of skimmer for a fuge though.
  5. FIRE!!

Was it a submersible heater or one of those that hangs off the sides? I have heared this before from those ones that hang off the sides and salt water aquariums. There is no seal and salt water gets in them and causes a short. ALWAYS use a submersible heater for saltwater (or silicone the top...
  6. lighting in correlation with pod growth in my fuge

when I was determining my light cycle for my fuge I decided that a 24/7 light cycle will disrupt the pod population. I did not find any study or anything on it, but if you watch your tank all the pods come out at night to feed, and spend the day hiding. So if your 24/7 a number of things can...
  7. Photo request - mixed reefs

Here are some of my latest photos: all photos posted on www.pixpipeline.com
  8. Anyone using a Mag 9.5/12 externally?

i run a mag 9.5 and mag 12 externaly for my CL....i find I had to silicone the intake to prevent it sucking in air. Although more plumers tape may have solved the problem.
  9. Is #reefs down?

yea irc.afterx.net does not work due to spam bots.....use ether us.afterx.net or eu.afterx.net
  10. Random pics you might enjoy...

try not to use the flash. IMO photos taken with an onboard flash are 100% worthless. Some nice shots otherwise.
  11. Wavy Sea or Sea Swirl

IME with the wavy sea I really glad I went with it over a seaswirl. Seaswirls move too slow IMO. I am very happy with mine, except I wish the mounting bracket was better. Having to mount it to my center brace was my only complaint about the item.
  12. picture taking help

I looked at your camera on dpreview. It appears it does not have a full manual mode so there is not much more you can do other than put it at -2. Unfortantly this may not be the best camera for aquarium photos. May be a good point and shoot but does not include a lot of the functions wanted...
  13. Best skimmer in your opinion for a 90G or 100G?

euroreef cs6-1 with a gate valve mod.....got one and love it :-)
  14. A FW tank to rival any reef in beauty!

Yea those are alright....but my favorite fresh water tanks are by far this guys: http://elkind.livejournal.com/109266.html Here are some more photos from his livejournal that are not on that page: http://pics.livejournal.com/elkind/pic/000e4p6k http://pics.livejournal.com/elkind/pic/0000kg0x...
  15. Pods?

you may have pods but not enough to sustain a scooter blenney or mandarin. The general rule of thumb is 75gal and 75lb of live rock aged for over a year. And in my opinion this is still pretty low, I would only go with those numbers if you have a big and decent fuge. These are great little...
