Got my signed copy a few days ago and it is worth every penny. The pictures alone are worth the price of the book let alone all the great info. I highly recommend this book.

What is your favorite tang? Currently my only tang but there will be more : Scopas Brown Tang
Where did you purchase it? LFS
What did it cost you? 30
What makes it so special to you? Like most all tangs it eats algae
What do you feed it? algae from the tank, flake
What will it not eat...
It has been my exprience certain coralines grow better under dimmer lighting ie the dark purple colors.....I also think it has a better chance to grow as it doesn't have to compete with the more light loving microalgaes.
Ok so I got everything to fit with some creativity but I am concerned with how long I should start the 2 400 watt MH's out? What would a good starting point be 2-3 hrs increasing 1 hr every week?? Help me out as I do not want to burn any softies or bleach my couple of SPS.
Ok so I just started setting up my 400 dual MH's over my 125 reef and am concerned that I will not have enough light while my corals are getting used to the MH's (figured I would increase duration 1 1/2 hours each week till my goal of 10 hours +/- is met). My old setup consisted of 2 96 watt...
I actually evicted my maroon clown for this type of behavior......mine would grab frags (especially newly placed ones before the epoxy would dry and carry them off elsewhere. I will not have another in my reef.....

How much teflon did you use?? PVC threads in my exprience are deeper and tend to need a little more wrapping than one would think. I would just pull those fittings apart and rewrap the threads......should work. Ain't plumbing grand!!!

I will second the coral beauty, I haven't had any problems so far (over one year). Had a bi-color but she had a taste for LPS :(
Personally I am partial to tangs as they are colorful, reef safe and eat algae.
Go to www.GARF.org they have a section talking about mushrrom propagation. It is really pretty easy just cut the head of the mushroom and attach it using mesh (the stuff used for wedding vails) to hold the head in place and some rubber bands at the ends of the mesh to hold it in place.
