I would assume that any organics are what causes the feeding response and not what kill the anemone. I'm interested in the chemicals that do the killing.
Thanks for the reply.
I'd still like to see a chemical composition. I have no intent of reproducing it either, but I want to know what I'm putting in my tank.
Shane, those are the typical solutions to this problem.
What I am trying to do is completely eliminate the exhaust tube. Basically, make the simpilest surge device simpler and eliminate the only major downside at the same time.
What I want to know is if it would work.
Actually, I need to know...
I wish I could post a pic of a RCSD diagram.
What the valve would replace is the inner plumbing that acts as a relief valve. The problem with this plumbing is that water and air explode out of it into the tank. This creates a terrible amount of noise.
I am not using one yet, but there are...
I was thinking about the only major downside to these surge devices... The noise generated as the water and air evacuate the small tube.
The small tube acts as a pressure relief valve. When the water rushes back in the device, the air in the device builds so much that it blows the water out of...
Regardless of the UGF, it's a cool idea.
What I had planned was to create an intricate, connected network of caves out of 2" and 3" PVC. The cave system would run throughout the sand bed and come out in two seperate locations. The rock work would be built around the various cave entrances at...
I was going to do something simular, but by running PVC pipe under the sand and in the rock.
I do have a question for you... Why are you even using a UGF? Is this a freshwater tank? You do know that these are generally considered bad in saltwater tanks?

This is what I am looking to copy:

I like the addition of sponges. I do not want any corals though.
Thanks,

I am not looking for any more seahorse info. I spent months at that site researching it.
What I am looking for is specific info on raising macroalgea in large quantities without raising nutrient levels to unacceptable levels. They love high nitrates, seahorses don't. How...
I saw one on Euro-Reef's site. I have always wanted to set up a seahorse tanks and have researched them thoroughly, but never set up a tank.
I have an unused 46 gallon, built a sump and have an unfinished tank stand I plan on finishing.
What kind of lighting should I use? I am thinking VHO or...
What batteries? This device is not supposed to require any outside power source.
The glue would have to be some type of epoxy due to the differences in materials. It was mentioned that the magnets used were no bigger than a watch battery. This leads me to believe that they are the same type...
Of course I've never built one. However, from the description of the insides that all of us were given here, plus the fact that they probably want to shield the magnets from direct contact with the water, plus the fact that they want the insides hidden and after looking at the pics on their...
LOL! Have you ever built a skimmer? I have... That's a good amount of time.
The Eco-Aqualizer is nothing more than a PVC tube (inside a larger PVC tube?) with magnets and some form of ceramic glued to the (smaller?) tube. An hour or two worth of labor at the most.
Matt, did you use your CC...
