  1. PH problem

    I set up a 55 gal and I'm having a PH problem. I can keep my PH up it stays around 7.7. I have used a buffer to raise it and a few days later it is back to 7.7. The tank has 40 lb's of crush coral and 40 lb's of rock right now. Can some one tell me how to get the PH to stay were it should be. :?:

    I live in SW Florida. I was wondering if anyone has every tried useing the sand from the beach to set up a reef tank. When I say beach sand I mean going out to about 12 to 15 feet of water an collecting the sand from the bottom or would this be a bad idea.

    How do you know if you have low'medium or high lighinting. I've asked many differnt poeple around were I live inculding most of the lfs. Ibeen told everything from 4 to 7 watts per gal is medium to high to 3 watts per gal and just go with the 20k lights. So what is true. I'm new to saltwater...

    Can I cycle a 10 gal nano tank under 50 watts of regular full sepectrum lihgts from a freshwater tank? I know that I have to change them when I start andding coral to the tank. Someone told me that the bactira and the corallina alge will grow under no fuloresnt lights is this true.
