Might be too late to reply but maybe look into the Ushio 14K... it is not blue like most other 14K but quite white.

For a fish like this I can handle some nipping. Just as long as it does not really harm anything badly

Most skimmers in general take anywhere from a few days to a week to break in and being skimming.

I would say you are definately at your limit in my opinion. I persoanlly feel the limit is one or two in a 90 and they will possibly have to be removed at some point as they grow and depending on personality

The Phoenix/AquaConnect 14K's have a bluer look that other 14K's such as the Hamilton or the Coralvue though still not as blue as a 20K. 20K is much bluer but then it will go back to your original question of will you sarifice growth with a 20K and the answer is yes. Honestly a couple of people...

I say for a good combination of intensity and blue coloration I would go with the Phoenix 14K's. These bulbs are practically indentical to the AquaConnect 14K that people rave about

I only use Ebo-Jabers myself. I have used them for years and they are built like tanks.... well glass tanks. Never had a problems with them.

I personally really like my Dolphin Ampmaster 3000. Super quiet(wouldn't even know it was there) and quite efficient. I have heard nothing bad about the Sequence pumps bit I just have no personal experience with them.
