  1. GFCI Tripped...

If the lights were the only thing plugged in to that particular receptacle, I would think that the culprit was a loose connection on one of the screws. As far as the breaker not tripping, that's not uncommon. I used to see it all the time when I was a service electrician. Three 250's should only...
  2. Any clues?

It's been growing slowly...hope the pic is clear enough. Thanks!
  3. Quick disconnect connectors?

Levito's Wetguard series might be what you are looking for. They're available in twistlock or strait blade plugs and connectors. http://www.leviton.com/pdfs/wetguard/20 ... atalog.pdf
  4. Ushio 14k's

Ushio hasn't updated their website. They only have info about them if you click on their link to more information on the 10k lamps. I stumbled onto the info, and since I work for a commercial electrical company, I checked with one of my fixture vendors to see if he could get them. Actually, it...
  5. Ushio 14k's

Anyone try these yet? I took a chance and bought some 250w DE's but I'm still setting up my new 135. I'm curious to know if anyone has any tank shots...the wait to get this thing up and running is agonizing!
  6. Cup coral?

You are right about the calcareous skeleton Guy. When I first added that hunk of rock to the tank I figured whatever had been there originally had died off. Two weeks later, I come in to work and there they are. So am I correct in assuming this is only freom th tropical atlantic? I'm only...
  7. Any Ideas?

I wondered about the bubbles too, but I've noticed bubbles in some polyps of what looks like some kind of cup coral. Also, I can't really say for sure that the bubbles are inside or on the surface. It does appear gelatinous, like you said knowse. I'm at a loss after going through the algae...
  8. Cup coral?

From all the research I've done so far, it seems this is some type of cup coral...anyone have a clue? These are the polyps I could get with the camera. On the rear of the same live rock, there is another group with a polyp so large it ate my bangaii cardinal! They seem to be doing well so far...
  9. Any Ideas?

Any guesses will be greatly appreciated! This guy, or rather guys, have srung up fairly quickly, and seems to be spreading. Given that it's translucent, would it be safe to assume it's non-photosynthetic? Thanks!
  10. all-glass or glass-cages ?

Hey jsn, I have a 135 (72x18x24) from Glass Cages. Pretty much everything I've read about them online has proven true in actual experience. It's pretty heavy duty. With the extra glass reinforcing the seams on the bottom, I can't see this thing ever leaking. Pros: *Great price...
  11. Conch?

OK, these are the best I could get. Anyone have the slightest idea? It's shell is only about 1/4" long if that helps. Thanks!

  13. Anyone see this show on NOVA about caulerpa taxiflora?

Great show about invasive species. Sadly, it seems the origin is from the Monaco Oceanographic institute and aquarists. :( Here's a link to the NOVA website... http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/algae/ It certainly illustrates the need for caution and the price we pay for careless actions.
  14. Conch?

I'll work on it Sugar Magnolia, it doesn't seem to like leaving the macro very much while I'm watching. Thanks!
  15. Anyone know what kind of cucumber this is?
