  2. Kalkwasser?

I would try to figure out where the phosphates are comming from...I think that phosphate reduction is just a perk about kalk, most just use it for the cal/alk benifits.
  3. ID help please

I just cut mine back with a razor blade, then try to scrape what little you can off the rock. I cant find a LFS to trade Xenia for anything ( not even RO)
  4. Kalkwasser?

  6. Wow, slow reef chat day. What do you wanna chat about :)

  7. How much fresh saltwater do you keep on hand?

30 to 35 gpd will be plenty.
  8. D'oh!

IMO, five gallons every week or two is not enough for a tank that size when you have an algae bloom. Have you checked your phosphates ? How old is the tank ? Everyone is also going to want to know your nitrate level as well. You may also want to get a TDS meter to check the RO that you are...

  11. fish Selection help

The tangs will get too big for your tank, they need alot of room to swim. As for the trigger, I'm not sure, but I don't think he will get along with the clowns. Hope this helps.
  12. New Guy...need more cycle advice

As for your skimmer, it requires a couple days to break in...at least mine does. After that time, it will produce a muck darker frothier goo.
  13. metal halide nipple orientation and loose sockets

I think about my sixth grade teacher to make my bulb's nipple point up... 8)
  14. Safe to use electric weed-eaterwater in aquarium?

It mainly grows in the sand bed, anywhere that cirrculation isn't excessive. I tried directing powerheads to these areas on the sand and it looked great for eight minutes ( thats how long it took to blow the sand away and expose glass bottom) . My PCs where replaced in December along...
  15. Safe to use electric weed-eaterwater in aquarium?

Yea, sorry about the title, total brain fart...I do use RO water for mixing salt and top offs which I buy from LFS. The algae seems more brown than red. I also forgot to mention that I am running a skimmer and 3 powerheads(Excalibur- Advanced Aquaria) I dont have access to a TDS meter. Any...
