Yeah the heaters you refer too are tetra tech. However they still have a seperate power cord from the power filter. I know because I use one on a fresh water tank. The heater itslef is larger than you might think but is still a decent size. It replaces the flow control on the power filter.
Though I have never done this with salt water there is something i do when adding normal rock to fresh. BOIL BOIL and BOIL a little longer. I like to toss the rock in boiling water for as long as reasonable. Just to kill off anything that may not be something you want in your tank. As this...
I have found something great for inside of hoods and such. Paint on pick up truck bed liner. One brand name is "herculiner" sold at k mart amongst other places. I have used this stuff on other items and as of yet have NOT tried it on this so try at your own risk for now. I plan on trying it...
Calculating flow of an existing anything is easy. Just a little math. As to calculating it for something that does not exist I am not sure but could come up with something given enough patience.
BTW Please for the goodness of all stop using all caps. Caps = screaming online. Not only is it...
I was looking at doing a DIY for a 30 myself recently. I quickly found that buying was almost the same price as building for that size. Just order one off the net.
I am really a porter cable guy. the craftsman are good and less pricey than dewalt. Stick with a 12 inch though. You never know when you may thank yourself later. Most 10"s cant even cut a 4x4.
Yup thats a stand. I have a couple Q;s though. First, why not replace the oak 1/4 round with just rounding the original piece with a round over bit? cleaner finish in the end. OK and why are the slats on the bottom like that? I dont see a point to them.
I hope you dont take offense to...
I wonder how well that may or may not work. I would think the bigger the better obviously. I used to use a tetra tec pf500 on a fresh water tank. that thing was HUGE.
ITs a matter of what you want to spend and how much you are willing to sweat. Makita makes a small (underpowered IMO) cordless circular saw you may be able to fit. A dremmal may be able to take care of the job. What about a rotozip or knock off thereof? OK if elbow grease doesnt matter you...
Wow, lots of people around here. My oscar stand is intentionaly shorter than most. The idea is for easier cleaning. Although being 6'4" does make it somewhat easy anyway. My 150 is on a 30" stand and dealing with it can be tricky.
