I apologize for the lack of pictures/updates on my Fluval EDGE build. Instead of trying to fix my old thread that has tons of broken links for pictures I figured I would just make a new thread and add all the pictures from start to finish all at once for you guys :)

I bought this tank a while ago and as you guys know it took me a while to get things going...thanks for your patience! As far as my basic setup goes I have a Fluval EDGE tank with Wingo's LED savior setup, a Rena 50w heater, k nano 240gph powerhead, 7 pounds of live rock and 10 pounds of sand.

The tank is setup on my dresser below my TV so needless to say I have a nice view at the foot of my bed. I also have a 15 gallon column tank to the left of it which will eventually be my next project.

I went with this sand/water to start off...

Wingo's LED Savior setup...let me tell you these things are bright! Comes with adjustable knobs to control white lights and the moonlights or a mixture of both which I absolutely love. I was able to hide my Rena 50w heater in the filter as well as the senor for my digital thermometer.

I cut the bottom half of the light bar/support or whatever you wanna call it as pictured below to have the LED sit higher up. By doing this that extra inch or so you gain makes a big difference in not just light spread but allows you to fill the tank to the top so it eliminates bubbles on the top glass.

Now, finally some pictures of the tank up and running with just the moonlights on. Pictures do not do this tank/light justice the shimmer effect is amazing and the blue is 10x better in person. I believe at this point I just had 3 turbo snails in the tank. I finally settled on a rock scape at this point after days of frustration finally got the layout I was looking for. Nice caves and the live rock has some nice spots on it to place frags.

I added a cleaner shrimp about a week later who came out of one of the show tanks at the LFS...meet Sylvester. I also got a clownfish on the same trip he was so cute I couldn't resist bringing him home...naturally I named him Nemo.

Less than 24 hours after putting him in the tank he shed!

Nemo was very afraid and shy and I felt bad leaving his tankmate at the LFS so 2 days later my girlfriend and I went back and got him now he's happy and they don't stop playing! Question...they play together all the time sometimes get aggressive and lock jaws for a few seconds. Is this playing, fighting, pairing or what?

When I went back to the other clownfish I saw a torch coral in the frag tank and couldn't resit. I know they aren't the best for a novice like myself but I loved the color so I figured I would buy my first frag!

Great progress Jeremy.the light looks awesome..
First time my shrimp shed,I was scared..lol..thought it was dead until I looked closely and saw it was just his skin. My wife thought it made a baby and now we had two..lol..talk about beginners!

Your tank will be packed soon..

Let me know how badly you guys want to have a fully programmable controller for the light to have gradual sunrise/sunset effect plus options to be a full reef controller like wave maker(hmm, who on earth wants wave in the Edge!!!??)? Your prayers may be answered soon by the creator of the Saviors. LOL

yes that would be awesome! about my shrimp shedding, I was sitting in bed and freaked out because I saw antenna/whiskers or whatever you wanna call em sticking out from behind the rock he usually hangs upside down on but I saw another set on the other side of the tank haha. I'm picking up a couple frags tomorrow from a couple local members so I will update my update thread within the next couple days!

hoping to pick up at least a large blue xenia tomorow possibly another torch and more!

getting a lot of diatom algae growing on my live rock, back glass, and sand in certain areas is starting. I have 3 turbo snails and a larger cleaner shrimp but I'm worried this is gonna eventually take over my tank...should I get more of a cleaner crew in there?

As promised...some updated pictures with my new frags! Picked up a couple from fellow member jdnumis AKA James and a hammer coral from Mike at Tropical Island Aquarium.

James went above and beyond helping me and answering all my novice questions. I believe he still has some frags for sale - I suggest you all check out what he still has!

Having an outbreak of diatom algae but I've cut down on my feeding and the amount of lighting on the tank. The last couple of nights I've given the tank complete darkness for about 7 hours and I see a huge difference the next day in how much the corals come out and expand.
