hmmm..kitty with a pointy nose?
Must be animal week..
Over the weekend I was outside shortly before dusk messing with an uncooperative pump on my pond and I looked up after hearing some noises and between me & the deck (and where the door is) are 7 baby raccoons walking along in a line that streched about 20 feet.
uh-oh
Then they noticed me..2 of them stood up and raised their paws...eek!
quick pocket check..no cells phone..I'm on my own..
slowly move along the rear fence of the yard..through the flower beds and make it to the side & then front of the house.
Door is locked.
uh-oh
I know the next place the raccoons will go is near my side steps (where there is dry cat food..that they do eat...). Unfortunately that is also where I need to go to bang on the basement window (where help was).
Quickly to basement window, banging & calling for someone to open the door.
Yeah - door open!
Look out in yard, racoons gone
Time to take dog for a walk..out the front door we go. Dogs does it's thing, head back to house.
Get to bottom of front steps..lots 'o baby coons..uh-oh, dog wants to play. Convince dog otherwise..up steps..
At the top step tangled in the wrough iron railing is yet another baby raccoon who didn't manage to notice us and it made the most awful noise! I screamed and it freaked, fell through the railing, grabbed onto the edge of the landing with it's little hands and proceeded to slide down the side of the stoop...the look on it's face going down was priceless.
ahhh..wildlife!
