Max Reefs is great hands down. Yes sometimes you need to have PATIENCE and wait your turn. Hey wait a minute, I think that's called manners! So you have to have manners and wait your turn to be helped. I love the place and will continue to go there. Their selection and prices are amazing. For those that rely on the LFS to educate you on the fish/livestock requirements while you are in the store you should be ashamed of yourselves. All of you have smartphones. You can do a quick search on the internet from the store and find out for yourself the parameters and requirements of the item you are buying. You should already have a working knowledge of the fish you plan to keep and the different types of fish that are on the market. If something looks cool but you can't find out any information on it then here's a new thought DON'T BUY IT UNTIL YOU DO! Don't bash these guys because they are busy and you have to wait your turn. Don't bash them if you buy something and get home that you have no clue about and then research how to care for it. It's not their fault. IT'S YOURS!

It's a forum and these discussions are good and the end of the day its good to hear other salt water geeks talk shop we all spend a lot of time and money in this ,and its nice to hear all sides ,of course the discussions are all from experience and we are all entitled to our own opinion no one should be just bashing I agree but how many of u guys in this post based the experience off of friendships with owners how well they know this person or that person in the store and what because I don't know the owner I should get treated different, its their job to keep us happy not the other way around don't get it confused, I'm just saying

just went there today with my girl. Today there was prices on almost everything on the new LPS shipment they got in. I kid you not prices were great got some great stuff for an awesome deal. Ralph is trying his hardest to maintain a good store and make all of us impatient people happy. In my sense he is doing a good job. just sometimes the staff is a little off and whacked out witch i don't get. But over all with the time we wait and the research she does on her phone in the end we always walk away with smiles on our faces. So its not Knocking them and bashing them its just bringing something to there attention that they should handle, something i learned if you like somthing and wanna be helped first just get there early and stay on top of your game.
Max Reef +1 A++ store. even tho tolls back and fourth ill go there a few times a week always.

You can't always find good help right away. But you can't change a store if they get unhealthy fish and coral. You can't change a store if one that doesn't take care of they tanks. Ralph has the healthiest fish, corals and tanks around. Ralph has one of the biggest section and variety of fish. You get a quality live stock at those prices. Some of you might of had a bad communication of prices and service. But Max Reef has accomplish they are a quality store. Say what you want but yet you still go there. Nonsense of crying should stop if cry babies stop going there.

Everyone is saying the employees the employees, I must have been there on an off day, because the employees could not have been more helpful the day I was there whice was a HUGH improvement from the time before . The pricing was the issue I had. And yes I will make that 2 1/2 hr ride again!

Recently stopped there on my way home from a ball game. The tanks weren't marked correctly. The gentleman helping us had to go to the owner for all prices. Normally this would be a bit bothersome but the prices were so ridiculously low I felt as if I was buying wholesale. I had to be dragged out of there in the end. Also I later called for a price on a new tank and it was by far the lowest of four quotes. I bought 3 fish and all made the transition in to their new home effortlessly. Kinda mad I didn't grab a few more. I'll be back. I live in upstate new York and max reefs prices were half what we would pay here. I bought a $28 flame angel and two $25 naso tangs one blonde and one regular. Couldn't have been happier.

Somehow I think some people need to lay off of whatever they are smoking. I was there today and they couldn't get out of their own way to help me even though I was only looking.
