No one likes that speech, thats for sure. I cant tell you how many times i heard that when i went to PoP. Every time i asked for a price it was the same speech.....and to make it worse your one on one so you know your gettin hosed. I felt like a rape victim when i left there.
Heres the deal with max. First, we all started *****ing cause they didnt have anything new or rare. I think they heard us. Shipments from Australia started coming in. Nice sps, nice LPS, nice fish, everything. But there's a cost to nice things. You cant expect Ralph to pay more for items and charge the same old prices. To stay in business he has to maintain a reasonable profit margin. As consumers we love to complaign. But there are many who have it much worse then we do.

I could care less if the prices were high or low, it's his business his store. To me it's the different people with prices thing. I can say the variety of fish and their overall health is amazing. Not one tank had a dead fish. The amount of adult angelfish they had, I've never seen anywhere else. Yea if I lived in the Bronx I would go there and deal with the owner and no one else, but I lived by JFK airport and not driving over an hour to get her ****ed around with prices like I just got into the hobby last week. .and if you're talking about pop corals, yea I see what you mean....you always end up leaving with more then what you were budgeted to buy....but honestly you could always just say no and he never pushes the issues....it's cause everything in there you want like a kid in the candy store lol

+1 was tehre today!! and ill tell you this much the SPS that was there was kick but! thy were so colorful and beautiful. The acros were not standard acros. They were multi colored and not your everyday stuff. His prices are still really good even if it was at 45$- 200$ a colony.
I dont hear anyone complaining about any other store that sells them for $100+ for a small colony that ralph sells to us at near to nothing $45 if you dont like it my saying is dont go. ralph if doing good for all of us if he raises up his prices a few dollars Hey its not cause hes trying to BEAT US IN THE HEAD its cause he needs to. if he doesnt he wont make any money. i can name a bunch of stores that sells all ralphs stuff for tripple TIMES THE AMMOUNT of money that ralph sells it to us for And me and my girl have to cross the bridge to get there so that is 15$ gone right away. no complaints here, Staff A+ Can be a little more knowledgeable about certant things with fish. But overall they are always working to please us in everyway possiable. You all should know that.

you can pre order it from him bud. All you have to do is give him a list of things you want when your there and he will get it for you. Well try his best to get it for you. If its not in season then it might be a little harder.

the same thing that happened toeveryone has happened to me and still does i just learn not to bother with it. They have there style and flow of business, The way they work is the way they work. No matter what we are always happy. But are pockets really arent lol.
im not trying to be mean i was just trying to make a point that max reef is the cheapest store that has quality stuff for dirt cheap prices STILL with the prices going up.
No i do not work at max reef, I do love there store tho and have some pretty cool stuff from time too time.

oh ok. I know who you are now. I was there a couple of weeks ago and you came in with your wife. You were dealing with Edwin when you asked him where were the things you called and asked to put to the side for you, and Edwin took you to the back and then downstairs to show you. I thought it was pretty cool they would put something to the side for you but then I thought it was wrong cause someone had came in asking for something and was told it was on hold for you, but they had another one just like yours but was more expensive. Next time I go I am going with you so I can get your prices and selection. Nice to meet you rob without officially meeting you if that makes sense.

Equisted wrasse 50 not bad
Clown wrasse 150 or you saw Labout's Fairy Wrasse and you got confuse
Edwin and Nelson are trying to get prices fix . Wholesaler are putting prices up so Ralph need to raise his prices or you guys want for him to keep selling the same way he use to sale in mt Vernon so he could close the store !!!!
I want to know what store sale like them ,
Who care what language they talk, is this a democracy state that only one language need to be spoken ,, let me know ,, I probably call JAY Z so he could call OBAMA so he could make a speech ...

Low ballers??? This guy is a character.....I said it before and I'll say it again, because apparently THE BOSS of no one can't read. Don't care if prices are high or low or continue to rise as long as you give me a price and stick to it. Not ask another employee 5 minutes later and the price fluctuates $30-40 in either direction. Outside of that I didn't complain about the prices being too high.....As far as the blue Atlantic tang rob, I hate asking LFS's to order something for me and if it's not quite what I want( maybe the color is off or it doesn't look the best) I feel obligated to buy it. I'd rather the fish be in the store and if I like it I get it and if I don't, then no worries....anyone know if they would sell the kole tang that's in the sps frag tank?

im not too sure if they will sell that kole tang in there. They might sell him if you ask. But if you ask him to order you somthing and you dont like it its okay someone else will end up buying him. But i know what you mean about that feeling. Its like a aww dang i made him work to get it now i feel bad if i dont get it cause he will think im a D!#%. lol
