John, to avoid a sandstorm and have perfect clarity after filling with water, follow these very easy steps.

1 - Take a plastic garbage bag
2 - Cut it open and lay it directly on the sand, flattening the bag to cover all the corners of the sandbed.
3 - Place a bowl, pot or small basin inside the tank right in the middle of the plastic bag.
4 - Fill the tank with water directly into the bowl or pot allowing the water to overflow onto the garbage bag.
5 - As the water level rises the bag will begin to float, continue pouring the water into the bowl. You can even put a piece of LR into the bowl to keep it from floating (if it's a plastic bowl).
6 - When all filled, remove the bowl and garbage bag.
7 - Your tank should be 100% free from sandstorm.

Works EVERY time. Post pix of your success.

My god theres a mile of PVC in that 2 foot area lol

Nick - believe it or not, that's only about 8ft of 1" flex and 5 of 1.5"

Yup... I sit here and don't know how they did it. but as you can see, I still have room for all my crap.

And that is why it had to be the way it is - had you not needed the Ca reactor in there, we would have plumbed that completely differently.

Man, sand!!1 you're so, so, close! Can't wait to see the lights on that sucker!

Congrats John, I know it was stressful this weekend, but it's done.

As an aside, you may want to throw a screw or two on the feet of that pump - looks like it pitched a tiny bit - should be OK cause the flex will take up the slack, but keeping the pressure off that union is best.

Again, congrats!
