Very nice setup and tagging along. Have you considered adding a mangrove or a group of them into the setup? Looks awesome once the roots start to grow out.

Thanks for the compliments. I definitely miss my old tanks.. but this waterfall tank has such a rewarding feeling about it. A lot of planning and hours went into making this possible. The rockwork alone took me months.

The tanks been driving me crazy,
Im having so many problems with algae but hopefully I can get it under control.

Lately, I'm never home to even see the tank so it's been hard.

I'll have an update in the next couple of days with some nice photos.

I have a lot of great new additions.

Update 01/28/2012

So here are some photos showing some of the various algae. Week by week this stuff returns, I continuously toothbrush and siphon out everything. It just keeps coming back. Its upsetting because i am always on top of my maintenance.

i clean it when i have time, but day by day im decreasing the amount of sand i have.

what to do? definitely need to add a skimmer and a reactor because i have tried just about everything else.
It comes off so easy.

The money tree has since healed and replanted in a large pot that will not fit behind my tank lol! ... i am planning to add a new one once i head into manhattan. [that an a cactus!]

im also moving in a few months. So far my plan is to extend the stand to 48" and add another cube on the left side of the shallow tank. not sure what i will be doing with it but ill make it work! ill also drill the right cube so i can get rid of that god awful elbow return lol.

Some of the corals are just fillers, and if you look on the right cube you can see i added some ledges for some future coral additions. I plan to add a nice size dendro later this month under the waterfall.

The duncans and sun corals are looking especially good bro! I think a bigger tank on the RIGHT overflowing into the other one. It will add more water volume and stay with the theme. You can't add a smaller one on the left it wouldn't make sense so do it bigger than the biggest.

To be honest, algae on the glass has not been much of an issue [probably because its everywhere else lol]

I believe the waterfall helps control algae, acting as an algae scrubber .. i use a Kent scraper and a nano mag when it does form. It needs to be cleaned like every two weeks.

Hopefully the glass stays this way lol.

Some of the corals are doing great and others are doing just ok.

Thankfully my sps are thriving.

I can't seem to keep everything happy. The frogspawn in the Shallow tank is loving life and the three heads in the cube will not extend. Its been like this around a month in a half. I have changed flow patterns, lowered light, increased light. Nothing has worked so far.

Im currently running chemi clean red slime remover and doing two 5 gallon water changes a week lol...trying to rid the tank of whatever is causing this cyano. This is my second treatment. The first time I didn't use a powerful air stone.

I cleaned my whole sump last week, it was full of dietritus an other crap which has definitely attributed to my issues.

During my normal maintenance i do a 5 gallon water change every Monday. Which is roughly a 20-25% water change a week. I have roughly 20-25 gallons and wet skimming.
