This is really beautiful and sensitive fish, I had trio of them for very long time with no any problems, they was very active in 79 degree and eating well.
Feeding is basically biggest problem for first week or so if you'll be lucky and they gonna start eat you shouldn't have any other issues.
I used nutramar ova for the beginning and they start picking some pieces shortly then after 2 weeks they eat even dry food. I lost my not because of overheat or food issues but because of remodeling my aquascape, I got live rock from other system and 2-3 days after I put it to my tank I realized that something is biting these little guys very bad, females lost them fins wasn't swimming at all only laying on the sand then finally died, strongest was the male but same thing happen to him, found only head with skeleton in the corner of my aquarium, still have no idea what happen.

If that store in NJ are keeping them alive for few weeks it means they eat and you can try :)
Most vendors asking for males $125-150 and for females $80-100.

Bella reefoman has been in this hobby a long time. If you want to try 300 dollars in fish to watch them potentially die try it. There are plenty of beautiful easier fish to try out. You can also try a hard to keep fish that is a bit cheaper and see if you have luck with that first

The key to having a chance with these guys is to have your LFS get one as soon as they arrive at the wholesaler because of their fast metabolism (cold temperature specie such as this loses body fat really fast in warm water) and the long chain of supply from their remotely collected habitat of the Marshall Islands makes this that much more important.

Wholesalers don't feed their fish like we do and if they do, mostly just adult brine shrimps that are too big for them to consume. Certainly helps if your tank temperature is in the low 70s. Low temp = slower metabolism = slower body fat loss. High temp = faster metabolism = losing body fat fast. Frequent small feedings is the other key to their success to build their body fat. Again, regain and build body fat (either by frequent feeding or lower temperature) is the key to their success. One last thing, deep water species do not appreciate the brightly lit, busy traffic of a reef aquarium. These fish deserve their own aquarium and if not make sure they are the first one in.

Good luck.
